The children excited or scared with a beaming look, their
hair combed and surrounded by older brothers, sisters
and parents.
Dutch Photographer Kees Molkenboer captured
the Italian Randolfi photographer, while he was
photographing the children, in the late 1950s.
That particular photograph from the collection of the Netherlands Foto Museum has become an icon after the war Reconstruction of Rotterdam.
Attention is also paid to yet an other Street photographer “Kodak Piet”’ who made portraits in Vlaardingen, an other suburb in Rotterdam, with a similar Pedal car.
Requested calls from the peoples generated a lot of reactions with their Pedal car photographs, wherefrom a part is shown in a current exhibition at our gallery DIG IT UP.
